Best Spa Resorts in Ontario

When most people picture the best spa resorts in Ontario, they imagine something grand—long driveways, sprawling grounds, and rows of white robes moving between pools and massage rooms. And while those traditional spa resorts have their charm, what we’ve created at The Liberty Inn is a little different.

We’re a boutique inn with a Nordic-inspired spa, tucked away in Caledon’s rolling hills—just under an hour from Toronto. With only five suites, the experience here feels more like being welcomed into a beautifully designed country home than checking into a resort. Every suite has its own touch of wellness built in—steam showers, infrared saunas, and handcrafted details made in our nearby ceramics studio.

Our Nordic Spa is small and private, bookable for just one suite at a time. It includes a cedar hot tub, Finnish sauna, and cold plunge surrounded by forest and garden views. It’s quiet, unhurried, and meant to be shared with no one but the person you came with.

So while we might not fit neatly into the “spa resort” category, we do offer something that feels even more personal—a place where the pace slows down, the details matter, and you have space to truly unwind.

That said, Ontario has some wonderful spa destinations, each with its own personality. If you’re after something larger, with restaurants, multiple pools, or group spa days, here are a few we often recommend to our guests:

Millcroft Inn & Spa (Alton, Ontario)

Just a 10-minute country drive from us, Millcroft is one of Ontario’s most beloved spa resorts. It has outdoor hot springs, an indoor pool, and an excellent restaurant overlooking the millpond. Many of our guests enjoy the best of both worlds—staying with us for privacy and design, then heading to Millcroft for a massage or facial.

Langdon Hall (Cambridge, Ontario)

A true destination in itself. Langdon Hall combines a beautiful spa, exceptional dining, and lush gardens. It’s part of the Relais & Châteaux collection and perfect if you’re looking for a full resort experience steeped in elegance.

Ste. Anne’s Spa (Grafton, Ontario)

A countryside icon. Ste. Anne’s offers all-inclusive stays where meals, treatments, and a sense of calm are part of the rhythm of each day.

Vettä Nordic Spa (Oro-Medonte, Ontario)

While not a resort, Vettä is one of our favourite day spas in the province. Guests often spend a relaxing afternoon there before returning to The Liberty Inn for the night. (There’s something special about ending the day in your own suite, in your own robe, without the crowds.)

Ontario has no shortage of spa experiences—some grand, some intimate—but each offers its own kind of escape.

At The Liberty Inn, wellness is simply woven into the stay itself. From your in-suite steam shower or infrared sauna to the private Nordic spa under the trees, every element is designed to restore a sense of calm and connection. Here, relaxation isn’t something you book—it’s something that gently unfolds the moment you arrive.
