Private Pottery Workshops
Just five minutes from The Liberty Inn, in the heart of Alton, you’ll find Soft Fire Ceramics—a working pottery studio housed in a beautifully restored fieldstone church. Here, our innkeeper Jacqui Liberty, a professional ceramicist, welcomes guests for private hands-on pottery experiences designed to inspire creativity, connection, and a touch of play.
Stay & Create
Guests of The Liberty Inn can make their getaway even more memorable by pairing their stay with a private pottery workshop. After a restorative night in one of our suites and perhaps a session in the nordic spa, step into Jacqui’s sunlit studio to immerse yourself in the art of clay. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and take home a piece of your experience—a meaningful keepsake from your time in Caledon.

The Studio
Our ceramics studio is located right here in the village of Alton in a beautiful old stone church. Tinted light pours through the original stained glass windows casting different colours in the space as the light moves through the day.
Here we get lost in time on the potters wheel, craft handmade tiles, and teach workshops to local curious and creative minds. Workshops are offered in a series four times a year for those looking to learn a new craft, pick-up an old hobby, or just enjoy the therapeutic benefits of creating something on the wheel.
