The Common Stove in Orillia — One of Our Favourite Restaurants

It's not particularly close to The Liberty Inn, but The Common Stove in Orillia is so good that we felt it deserved a mention on our blog.

Our family cottage is about 40 minutes away, and pretty much every time we're up there, we make a point of going. We've visited countless times, and the food is consistently excellent. The staff are fantastic too, which makes the whole experience that much better.

We usually order a few entrées and steaks for the table and share everything. It's a great way to try different dishes, and we've never had a disappointing meal.

One thing we particularly love is that they have Coravin. It means you can enjoy a glass of something really special without having to order the whole bottle. A small detail, but one I wish more restaurants offered.

We've also brought our kids on several occasions. Despite the quality of the food, it doesn't feel overly formal or stuffy. It's a genuinely family-friendly restaurant, and we've always felt welcome.

If you happen to be travelling through Orillia or heading up to cottage country, we'd highly recommend making a reservation.

It's easily one of our favourite restaurants in Ontario.
